GRPAA Member-firm Spotlight: Spectrum Investment Advisors
Shortly after the completion of their second-floor building addition in early 2019, Jim Marshall, President and, Founder of Spectrum Investment Advisors welcomed GRPAA Consultant Phil Hecker for a full tour of Spectrum’s magnificent office space. The building features beautiful, detailed murals dedicated to US Presidents and Veterans of family members, two full-service coffee shops (baristas and all), and a detailed timeline of Spectrum’s business history. The visit came just days after Spectrum hosted over two hundred of members of the local business community and national community for a special guest speaking presentation featuring Sgt. Edgar Harrell, a survivor of the USS Indianapolis. Mr. Marshall was also very pleased to tell us about the local development surrounding his office. Within just a few steps of Spectrum’s front doors a restored mid-1800s brewpub, a 13,000 square-foot mixed-use campus, and over 250 residential units and 10 restaurants are all taking shape. Location, Location, Location! When Jim chose the new office space in 2011, he and his 9 employees could have only hoped for the growth opportunities that are today’s reality. Now, with 24 team members and space for 30 more there’s no telling what the future might hold.
Jim was kind enough to provide some comments on his longstanding relationship with GRPAA, “When Jonathan, Manuel and I talked about joining GRPAA, there is one word that reminded us why we should join, “marketing”. Bill Chetney and the members of GRPAA, in the last six years, put Spectrum on the map. On a national level, very few people knew who Spectrum was, until we met Bill Chetney. Thanks to your organization opening the door, in the last six years, we have been selected as a PLANADVISER Finalist for 2014, 2015 and 2016, Mequon/Thiensville 2015 Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year, Finalist for 401(k) Specialist in 2017, Pension and Investments 2017 Best Places to Work and also selected as a Finalist for the Milwaukee Business Journal’s 2018 Fastest Growing Firms followed by Best Places to Work by the Milwaukee Business Journal in 2018. During the last eight years, since we moved into our new building, we tripled in assets to over $2.5 Billion and have remained profitable for the past 24 consecutive years. We have enjoyed the ride!”
